The next Biennial Meeting of the Conference for Food Protection (CFP) will be held from April 19-23, 2027, in Grand Rapids, Michigan.Applications for Council membership for this meeting MUST be submitted online and the deadline to apply is July 1, 2026 (4:30 pm Eastern Daylight Time).

Submission of an application indicates an obligation to register for the 2027 Biennial Meeting. Those selected to serve as a Council Member or as a Council Alternate will be REQUIRED TO REGISTER for the Biennial Meeting AND attend the event in person; registration will be available in late 2026.

On your application, you will be asked to identify your preference of the Councils as either your FIRST, SECOND, or THIRD choice. Do not choose the same Council more than once.

• Council I - Laws and Regulations 
• Council II - Administration, Education and Certification 
• Council III - Science and Technology

Council members are selected based upon CFP constituency representation, geographic distribution, CFP committee experience, and expertise. In accordance with the CFP Constitution and Bylaws, Emeritus and Student members are eligible to serve on a Council only when specifically called upon to do so by the Executive Board. 

Council Voting Members and Council Alternates will be announced via email in September, 2026.
